Am I eligible to register?
Primary (Kindergarten) - Students must be 5 years of age by December 31 and demonstrate adequate readiness for a classroom situation.
Grade 1 – Students have completed Primary and have satisfactory reading readiness skills. A placement test may be administered on an individual basis to determine readiness for Grade 1 (an extra year of primary is a huge advantage for a struggling reader).
Grades 2-5 – Students must have successful completion of the previous grade level. After registration, testing a returning student in Language Arts and Math will be administered to determine whether the student’s academic level is sufficient to allow admission to that grade level. If a student is two or more grades behind in Math or Language Arts, stepping back a grade will be discussed.
